Philosophy
Our core competency is sales, sales management and leadership expertise.
Back in the 1980s, there was a popular song, and the title of the song tells the story best about life in sales and sales management. The song was entitled “What Have You Done For Me Lately” which is a perfect description for business life in the 21st century. The song’s title speaks volumes about life in sales and sales management where yesterday’s results are nothing more than a distant memory; like an old sales award sitting on a bookshelf collecting dust.
In sales, we live in a...“What Have You Done For Me Lately” business environment where our economy can be very unpredictable if not volatile, and expectations are fast and furious. Life in sales and sales management really is all about the sales numbers: Today’s and tomorrow’s numbers!
At The Sales Advisory Board, our approach is somewhat contrarian with regard to the advice and support we provide our clients in that we’re not going to necessarily give you the “book of the day” advice. In fact, if you haven’t already noticed, most sales, sales management and leadership books are distinguishable only by the cover of the book itself and not by the content of the pages.
Our advice and consultation does not originate from the corporate “ivory tower” but instead, we deal in the real world of sales and sales management. All of our business professionals have actually held sales, sales management and leadership positions during their respective careers and most importantly to our clients; all
of our business professionals have been successful, and they know what it takes to get to the next level. We act as a trusted advisor to our clients, and they view The Sales Advisory Board as a long-term business partner as well as an integral part of their overall success plan.
We do not make it a practice to deal in hypothetical “what-ifs.” We know what works, and our goal is to share what works best with our client partners based on our own prudent business experience in sales and sales management.
Our clients are salespeople, entrepreneurs and sales leaders who seek an objective viewpoint outside of their own company and network of business associates.
Many of our clients are business owners of companies too small to employ a full-time sales manager or they simply do not understand the sales function well enough to manage it on their own; sometimes due to the fact they wear so many different hats and are constantly fighting fires on a daily if not hourly basis.
We also work with the venture capital community who require a sounding board to discuss sales organization strategy.
